Another fine show from The Who in Fulda. It was the first concert of the band in Fulda, located at an earlier Airfield of the US forces. Nearly 5000 fans saw a 110 minute show, featuring the band's greatest hits.
The setlist was identical to the show in Antwerp, but without The Kids Are Alright. Pete was in fine form, but seemed to be tired. He had technichal problems during the set, and wasn't satisfied with the accoustic guitar and started Drowned twice. In Baba O'Riley, the guitar went out, so Pete came too late to sing the "Don't cry..." verse. But Pete took it all with his typical sense of humor.
Roger was perfect. His voice was strong, clear and he was 110 minutes on fire. At the end of the show he said, that he hopes that the band will play a lot more shows here in Fulda.
The setlist was very similar to the European shows in 2006. Only 3 new numbers were in the set, two of them accoustic. No Wire and Glass, no Mike Post Theme nor Black Widow's Eyes - a little bit disappointing.
The Cult were a good support act, playing 45 minutes, including some of there biggest hits like Rain or She Sells Sanctuary. Ten minutes before their act the rain came, but when they hit the stage, the wheather was fine. "Rain is God's blessing", Pete said with a friendly smile later – and The Who were the perfect band, to celebrate more than 40 years of Rock'n Roll...
