The show was announced only about one week before the date and it was fully sold out - tickets were available by post only - I personally put my cheque through the odeon letterbox the evening the gig was announced and was still about ten rows bak from the front. I recall townshend walking across the stage, clearly upset at the keyboard playing on Won't Get Fooled Again and swinging a punch at Rabbit - the keyboards might have been a little off but otherwise it was an excellent gig and good to see the band at such a small venue.

Just to say what a fantastic web site this is. The Who played Edinburgh on 9th June 1979 at The Odeon Theatre Clerk Street and not The Empire as stated on the site. I still have the ticket stub from it. As an addition note he did say to a rather annoying small part of the audience who kept chanting "Bring back Moonie", "Fuck off Edinburgh your too quiet for The Who" which was then cheered wildly by the rest of the audience and the show continued with a much better response from both The Who and the audience. It was the first time I saw them and I will never forget it. Your site keeps the memories of all their shows going, brilliant. Thanks and I hope this is of some help to you.
