So long Hollywood, hello London! Same setlist as Tampa. Had a great time meeting up with friends I hadn't seen in many years, friends that I purposely avoided some that just fade away by everyday life's happenings. I always love running into Carey as he has more enthusiasm then anyone I know give or take a few. Thank you Marc, Jess, Meg, Joyce, Scott, Crazy Rob, John and Ed Ryan, Smilin' Eddie Ryan you made the 7 month journey so much fun! I always feel nervous excitement before a Who show that my conversations consist of words like "oh yeah", "wow, very cool" as I look around and then check my wallet for my ticket every 2 minutes. I'm always thinking that I'm going to lose that thing before the show. Yeah, WHO tours are nerve racking and filled with anticipated excitement. Walking to my seat is like walking into fantasyland with a bold smack of reality when the stage lights flash and suddenly there are your heroes right before your very eyes. The Who hit the stage and I Can't Explain comes on with a fury as Daltrey swings his microphone and the crowd is already into it. The Hollywood Hardrock crowd was into it from the get-go except for a few slackers who felt the need to sit down and rest (there will plenty time for sleeping when you walk through the mirror door you dolts!!) Once again I enjoyed hearing Substitute for the second night in a row, it's just such a WHO song, it reminds me of alot of boots I had listened to over the years, Substitute rocked both nights. Other hilights for me was my second favourite version of Eminence Front, my first is the version from the Vancouver show, and let me tell you, get that DVD just for that as it contains some of the most vial, dispicable, raunchy, sexy, violent moments in 5 minute live Pete history. Back to last night. Pete was kind of subdued and seemed angry as he seemed at the beginning in Tampa. I myself was starting to get angry as I'm thinking, "fuck, this is the last show in the US" and Pete's going to just go through the motions! Screw that I did my part best I can from the 4th row in front of Pete by screaming as loud as I can and holding up my poster that read "THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS". Then Pete looked at it and screamed back "I have no more f*cking blood to give" and mentioned something about tearing off all his fingernails. It's a kick to get that interaction, it becomes an addiction to be in the first 4 rows with posters. 14 shows and no worse than the 4th row for all shows. The money's all gone! Well, as I said,I felt the good ole Pete coming alive! And it was during EF where he did just that, come alive in a huge way as he blistered and sang his heart out throughout this song. After that Pete was on furious fire til the end of the show.I felt it in my soul to text message George LiGouri and tell him that I thought it was the best show of the 14 shows I've seen.Ok,maybe I jumped the gun a bit, but it was certainly in the top 3 that's for sure. I couldn't of been more pleased to witness such a great show of the last show on the long and winding and tumultuous US tour in my own back yard (the Hard Rock is literally an 8 minute ride from my house). They certainly rocked out of Hollywood Florida with shear fire bang!! Thanks for everything Pete, Roger, Simon, Zak, Pino, Rabbit and Brian, thank you for all your blood, sweat and tears!
